The African Sixth Region
The Sixth Region-: The African Union (AU) officially recognized the African diaspora as its “sixth region” in 2003, alongside the traditional five geographic regions: North, South, East, West, and Central Africa. This designation acknowledges the diaspora’s significant contributions to the continent’s development and aims to integrate them more fully into the AU’s structures and activities. The sixth region is not a physical geographical region, but rather a symbolic and functional one representing people of African descent living outside the African continent. This designation also acknowledges the diaspora’s significant role in contributing to the continent’s economic and social development, and it provides a framework for greater engagement and collaboration between the AU and people of African descent living outside of Africa.
The New African Initiative (TNAI) was for to implement the aforementioned goals. This group is a not of profit which own a for profit agency whose purpose is to implement educational sustainability development projects. We intent to form alliances with investors in the USA and Africa to create an equity fund of over US$2.5 B to support debt funding of project within the AU six regions, especially in the Caribbean. The debt funders will be Afreximbank and other AU financial institutions.
TNAI extends an invitation to all peoples for the six regions to contact and join us in the development of our regions.
